1/2" Marlinspike

This is the perfect size for a marlinspike. I had originally planned on using this for splicing natural fiber ropes and cables, but I'm picking up some of the uses with paracord as well.

When I first came across this marlin spike, I was eager to try it out. As someone with a collection of marlin spikes, and even having made a YouTube video showcasing them, I was excited to add this one to my set. After receiving it, I was so impressed that I decided to order another as a backup and a third to keep with my paracord gear. One of my favorite things to do with these marlin spikes is to polish them using a piece of leather and polishing compound. This process ensures they are as smooth as possible and gives them a fantastic shine. The attention to detail in this marlin spike is outstanding—especially the small slot designed specifically for making the Turk’s Head knot, which prevents it from slipping off. It’s a brilliant touch! Since I ended up getting three, can you guess which one is my favorite? Yep, this one! Each marlin spike is adorned with a different colored Turk’s Head knot that I made. I'm an amateur, but I noticed a few great things and have enjoyed it. The friction with paracord is low, letting it slip through to open knots and expand loops. Still, it doesn't slip in hand. The metal is tough, resisting scratches from metal, and featuring a good weight. The dimensions are great to work with rope and manipulate with one hand. Also, tying the Turk's head knot was pretty satisfying, and it comfortable and a practical stopper. All in all, I'm appreciating this marlinspike more than I expected.

It’s really nice. Perfect size and weight. Has just the right point. About ball point pen size. Pokey enough but not sharp. Had the Turks Head tied on. Totally worth it.

Great addition to the rigging arsenal, I enjoy boating, both power and sail and also do some jungle hammock camping. This Marlinspike is both affordable and well made and is an essential piece of equipment for learning knots. The line that comes with the order is a nice touch and allowed me to immediately install the Turks Head. Your video tutorials are very easy to follow. Currently I have been unable to find a reasonably priced piece like this, a very good value. I will be purchasing more. Thank you!
